How Education System has Changed in a Decade ?

scholarayu education changed in a decade

As we all know the famous proverb Education is the key to success. So today I am going to write about how the education system has changed over a decade. The education system now is changing in ways of technology and how beautifully it is being introduced in schools and colleges.

COMPUTERS
Earlier if I talk about computers in school the students have to rush to get the computer in their lab class as limited computer system were there but now if we see children have their I-pads or tablets that are being synced with their study material, projects, homework, etc. that are being provided by the school itself. Giving relished iPads means growing up with the latest software and technology. It is also benefiting us as we don't have to teach our upcoming employees with Microsoft Office as they are grown up learning that on their fingertips.

SMARTBOARDS
I still remember whiteboards and the smart boards were considered huge investments for schools and in the beginning only a few classes had that and we had turn classes gradually in that smart room but now almost all reputed schools have smart boards.

SUMMER PROJECTS
A decade later we use to write each and everything, go and search in libraries but now it is all replaced by tablet-based learning. Earlier when we use to get summer projects or assignments we use to search libraries for that exploring new books finding material from different books, collections from different resources like newspapers; magazines; neighbors house, etc. but now children or even our adolescents have replaced it with most friendly word "Internet". Our young gen has a simple mantra to everything i.e., 'GOOGLE -IT' this means even GenY is becoming lazy and don't have to make efforts for anything.

PUNISHMENTS
The education system has also changed in terms of punishments. Earlier, we use to get strict punishments from our teachers it might be writing a sentence several times; doing rounds in the playground, etc. but now CBSE itself has said not to beat any children. Many schools have come up with no rules; no punishments to help children to learn deeply from their own mistakes itself.

SUBJECT CHOICE
If I talk about subject choice then the younger gen has more diversity when they have to choose their subjects. Earlier it was only science and arts to choose from but from the past few years we have science, commerce, and art as an option to choose from. Earlier there was no compulsion for choosing a language but now in most of the schools one foreign language is compulsory to be learned from a very early stage itself. This will surely help them in their future and in business too.

EXAM PATTERN
Exam pattern has also changed as earlier, there was tough competition in the school itself but since the grading pattern has launched it has made it easier for students to easily score in exams but I believe this is quite unfair for students who are scoring high. Also, it makes it tough for the student to pass competitive exams because the competitive exam level is the same and college requirements are more competitive these days.

So from approx a decade, our education system has changed. We have laptops in our hands starting from pre-primary till our jobs. The way we learn of course the same will pass on to other generations after adding new things to it like technology has changed and we have grasped it. If you know more things that have changed in our education system, then do comment.
