Is Second Chance Worth Giving?

I have always been of the thought that 'everyone deserves a second chance' only if they have learned and changed from their mistakes. We are human beings and we commit mistakes and learning from your past mistakes means that you acknowledge them and once again you are willing to take responsibility for yourself.

Your change is important. It means working on thinking, feeling, and behaving differently. However, it does not always mean that your partnership should continue. And, when you are giving second chance then the decision should be solely yours. Because others don't know the actual feelings and thinking you are going through. It's just you. 

I would like to narrate a story to make you understand this topic. A few years back my friend was in a relationship and because of some reasons they broke up. After some time, when the boy thought and realized his mistakes he thought of going back and from that moment he started apologizing but as she was hurt and made her mind not to listen to him she didn't. The boy continued to apologize for almost 2 years but nothing happened instead in the back he just got disappointments and ignorance. A few months back he texted back and probably that was the last one because in that conversation she insulted him a lot but that insult helped him to move on and he literally moved on which is actually good. And as we know the moment we move on the person comes back and here also this happened. She felt guilty as she realized she was doing wrong to him because of her fears and then she decided to go back. But do you think he will come back? No. Because the person waits for a limited time once he is moved on then no power can take him back. Now she was in his position and he was in her position. I believe this is what we call 'KARMA.'

Let's see a few reasons why he didn't give her a second chance:-

1. IS THE PERSON REALLY CHANGED?

Generally, after committing a mistake the person leaves for some time in the heat of the moment. But after sometime when they think about it deeply they actually realize the mistake and maximum of us come back and apologize. Many of us instantly forgive the person but many of us don't. Those who don't forgive is because maybe the person is not at all changed even after committing the mistakes which have the chances that the mistakes can be repeated so in this case, we should never give second chance to a person because here you will again get into the trap and you will be the one who will suffer. 

I would like to relate this from the above story- similarly she also didn't change even a bit so how can the boy accept the same unchanged personality which was the reason for their fights. 

People should change themselves according to time and should learn from their mistakes. 

2. DOES YOUR HAPPINESS LIES OVER THERE?

If your happiness lies in the person who has committed a mistake then you might give them a second chance. But this is rare because it generally happens when a person leaves we make new friends or we might comfort ourselves with someone who understands us, supports us, guide us, etc. And after a time span, our happiness doesn't lie with the same person because of many reasons like they might have not valued you, respected you, etc. because of which you might have distant yourself from them. And this is not at all wrong. 

Like above the boy's happiness lied in the girl always but happiness changes so here it changed after some time when he didn't get any results and which is totally right. Now his happiness doesn't lie in her so he decided not to give her a second chance because that's not worth it. 

You should always go where your happiness lies.

3. ARE YOU MOVED ON?

This is the most important aspect of all. This really matters if you are really moved on mentally and emotionally from a relationship, friendship, etc. then there is no chance you will give a second chance to a person. But if you are not even a bit, then you will surely give a second chance.

Like the boy moved on in every aspect so it might be difficult rather it would be impossible for him to go back probably because he might not feel anything for her now and there might be many more reasons.

So on this basis, you should decide whether you should give a person a second chance. Is giving a second chance really worth it? And when you get your answers you can decide on your final step.

Also, a person will wait for a limited time so time also matters. Like the girl was late in deciding so she lost her chance. So you should realize your mistake before it becomes too late.
