 The basis of productivity is energy, not time. If you will have all the hours free in the day that won't help you out if you are exhausted. Your habits usually define your energy level. When you have good habits, you will feel stronger and more willing to burn, physically and mentally. If your habits are misdiagnosed, you can go into a cycle where you feel worse, until you struggle to move forward.

Here are 3 habits you can work on this year to increase your energy.

1.  GO TO SLEEP EARLY 

As there is a famous proverb 'Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise.' Sleep is the basis of energy. You will surely start to underperform if you will not get enough sleep. While some people claim to work best on six or fewer hours of sleep, research says they’re kidding themselves. If you want to remain cognitively sharp in the long run then seven to eight hours of sleep is mandatory. 

Sleep deprivation may not affect you for a few days but it will surely affect one day and people who have sleep deprivation will feel slightly tired for the whole day but they will not get that they are getting worse. Those who have sleep deprivation will go through continuous declining mental performance. 

For some days try going to bed at 10:30 whether you feel sleepy or not, keeping aside your phone and try waking up between 6:30 - 7:00. In starting it might not go good but soon you will adapt this then you will feel more energetic during the day.

2.  SET YOUR ROUTINE A DAY BEFORE

Once you will start working hard and you will overcome the setbacks and keep going for the whole day. Starting slowly may end up struggling against your impulses and wasting energy on the things that aren't productive. 

One way to avoid this wastage of energy is to set a clear intention of how will your day go, this should be done a night before. Visualizing things and noting it down in your schedule can give you a more practical approach because when you will write it down it will automatically happen when you wake up as it is a sort of liability.

Before going to bed, write down your whole plan from waking up till going to bed for the net day and visualize it. 

3.  STICK AND SELL YOURSELF ON YOUR GOALS

Many people hold on a contradictory approach that other people can convince them to do all sorts of things they wouldn't do otherwise, but they say that they cannot change their motivation to do the things they have to do.

The truth and the practical approach to it are - you should be the salesperson for your own goals. Do it for yourself, not for others. 

Let's visualize this as a product- start it with packaging which means how you frame your goals can have a huge effect on your motivation. Would you like to do this is this comes up with an exciting challenge?

The Internet is to constantly renew and remind yourself of your inspirations. Ask a few 'W' questions to yourself like - Why you have been in this way? What are you hoping to achieve? Good marketers know how to focus on the customer's point of view on how they will visualize what they want to drive sales. You can focus on what you want to have the energy to get it done.

Try spending just 15 mins of yourself every day to visualize what today's action is helping you build towards.
