The Unforgettable Life of a Student : Hostel Life

I wrote about college life in my previous blog so today I will tell you the life of hostellers. I myself is a hosteller so it is my experience also.

It's tough to leave the comfort zone of the home but nowadays it's a trend to study out of town and most of the students including myself had the dream to live in a hostel as it gives an immense amount of freedom. So, let's discuss in detail what happens in a hostel.

A MIXED FEELING

Living in a hostel is a diverse feeling at one moment you feel homesick and the other moment you enjoy living all alone at once. Its like nostalgia has grabbed you and you can't shake it off from your head. After being separated from your parents after your birth and managing everything at your end is quite difficult sometimes. Initially, hostel life doesn't get started like you dreamt of but slowly and gradually you have to make yours and yes, later on, we have the same hostel life. Everything has pros and cons so why not make the best of all. Being a hosteller has so much supremacy. So enjoy being a hosteller and enjoy every day of hostel life because once you get graduated you will surely look back to those days and cherish all those moments you had.

FOOD FIGHT GETS REAL

After having mess food at least I always my mom and her delicious cooked food. The rules of the hostel mess are really strict and the menu is monotonous. In the beginning, it feels the best hostel food we are having but in the end you end up hating it because getting the same menu every week makes you irritated. It was only back at home you get hot served food where you can watch your favorite sitcoms. But in the hostel, there are set timings for a meal and you have to rush for your meal because if you will get late either you will not get food or the lentils and the water separate and then you have to either hang up with the snacks or end up cooking Maggie.

NO LONGER SLEEPY NIGHTS

The sleepy night vanishes from your life as soon as you enter the hostel. It's not that you become insomniac but your sleeping schedule changes entirely. Night time is for gossip as your gang gets free from the daily routine. The trick to start the session is this semester is hard to end and once you get in the loop and you finally get into gossip mode and the whole night passes into a blur. Then, when do we sleep? Well that in the lectures, or getting up late in the mornings. And eventually, tittle-tattle becomes a ritual in your life. But I have experienced many night labrish on stairs and they are the best and the most cherishable memory of the whole hostel life.

NO REASONS FOR PARTY

There will be multiple spontaneous gathering for no reason. An instant call from your fellow to gather and there will be so many dance parties, DJ parties and for no reason and you will end up missing your lectures because the parties are continued till late nights. In hostel for even a nanoscopic reason we ask our gang for parties like if you failed in an exam bro party, if you had an accident bro party, at least I had many such parties with my gang. You will end up missing your meal and enjoy hanging up in canteens or ordering online. And the result comes out of these parties are you will surely empty your pockets, and a major weight gain issue and later you will end up regretting it and then next morning again having another party so these are some of the memories you love being a hosteller.

There are many such experiences. Hostel life is among the most thrilling and adventurous experience in life which one cannot forget. And accordingly, every person should experience a part of their life in hostels. And especially campus hostels that have several restrictions just like mine. Everyone will surely be going to miss their hostel days so make every day of it a memorable one and add to your hostel album.
